The Church of Sardhana was built by Begum Samru and dedicated to Mother Mary in the year 1822. It was known as St. Mary’s Church until 7th November 1957 when the Holy Shrine of “Our Lady of Graces” was started by installing the Holy Image by Archbishop Evangelisti. Later, this beautiful Church was raised to the dignity of a Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Graces in December 1961 by Pope John XXIII. The Church is a protected monument by the Central Government Since 28th March 1924. Pilgrims come to visit the Church not only from all over India but also from abroad.
