Our Lady of Victory National Shrine opened in 1925. In 1926, it was named the second Minor Basilica in the United States by Pope Pius XI. It was founded by Venerable Nelson Baker, whose cause for canonization is under consideration by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Father Baker is buried in the Basilica. The Shrine is a place of pilgrimage for people from all over the world.
